Ulster County Woman Leads Troopers On Wild Chase

(Woodstock, NY)  --  An Ulster County woman is behind bars after police say she led them on a wild chase that started in Woodstock and ended in Suffern.

Officials say 71-year-old Laura Duffy had been ordered to pull over in Woodstock for a traffic infraction, but took off and headed south onto the New York State Thruway. State Troopers spotted her car in Newburgh and attempted to pull her over again, but she refused and led the troopers on a 36 mile chase. Police were finally able to pull her over by deflating her tires. Three troopers were hurt.

Duffy's charged with a slew of charges including felony assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. She's being held at the Rockland County Jail on 25-thousand dollars bail.
