(New York, NY) -- A 70 year old Orange County man involved in a deadly Chinatown minivan crash is facing charges.
Henry Herman lost control while trying to parallel park on Canal Street last night, jumping a sidewalk and crashing into a fruit stand and then striking several people while in reverse. A 56-year-old man was killed, four other people suffered critical or severe injuries and two more were hurt.
Herman, who is from Monroe in Orange County, is charged with seven counts of failure to yield to pedestrians, failure to exercise due care and other traffic violations.
