West Point Prank Goes Terribly Wrong

(West Point, NY) -- The Air Force Academy mascot, a live falcon named Aurora, is recovering after a prank by West Point cadets went terribly wrong.

The Army apologized after two mascot birds were stolen by cadets before Saturday's rivalry football game. They were thrown into dog crates with sweaters over them. Aurora was likely trashing, injuring her wings.

The birds were returned after the cadets realized that their prank was going bad. Aurora is now being treated and showing signs of improvement. Her handlers initially feared the bird might have to be euthanized. The Army is promising a full investigation.
