Possibly Contaminated Ham Was Shipped To New York

(Smithfield, NC) -- The USDA is recalling nearly 90-thousand pounds of North Carolina ham.

The recall was issued yesterday for the ready-to-eat ham because of possible listeria contamination. The USDA says the ham from Johnson County Hams in Smithfield, North Carolina is being linked to one death and three illnesses because of listeria.

It was distributed in New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.
