Eagle Feather Causes Problem For Governor Cuomo

(Saranac Lake, NY) -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo seems to have broken the law.

At a press conference last week in the Adirondacks, Cuomo told a story about coming close to an eagle and getting one of the feathers. But a federal law says it's illegal for non-Native Americans to possess any eagle parts, including eggs, nests, or feathers. The penalties for violating the law can include fines or jail time. A spokesman for the Cuomo campaign tells New York One the governor wasn't aware of the legislation. He says Cuomo will return the feather to the lake or give it to federal authorities.
