Man Missing In The Hudson River

(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office says the search will continue this morning for a man who went missing while swimming in the Hudson River off Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie. Authorities say the 49-year-old man got swept up by the current, near the Mid-Hudson Bridge, where he jumped in to swim just after noon yesterday. He was joined by three other male swimmers, one of whom also got into trouble, but was rescued.

Law enforcement agencies spent the afternoon looking for the swimmer, but suspended the search at 7:30 last night.
