(Albany, NY) -- New York is still considering passing a bill to allow sports betting this year.
The United States Supreme Court recently struck down a federal ban on sports gambling, leaving it to the states to decide. That could provide a path for New York residents to be able to bet on football, baseball, basketball and other sports.
This legislative session closes in a few weeks and Governor Cuomo says there isn't enough time this year to address this. Some state lawmakers are dismissing that and continue pushing gaming bills.
