Electric Is Out For Thousands In The Hudson Valley

(Poughkeepsie, NY)  --  As of early this morning more than 65,000 Central Hudson customers were without power.

Storm damage caused more than 21 thousand Dutchess County customers to lose electricity.  More than 35,000 customers in Orange County were still without power early this morning and more than 4,000 customers in both Ulster and Putnam counties were also off the grid.  Utility crews are working throughout the service territory to restore power and thousands are expected to have the lights back on later today, while for others it may be a couple of days.  About 100 mutual aid line workers from the Midwest are expected to arrive to assist in the power restoration effort.
