Top Cop Resigns After Rush Limbaugh Escort

(New York, NY) -- The top cop at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is abruptly retiring.

Michael Fedorko's retirement announcement comes just days after he reportedly ordered a police escort complete with flashing lights and sirens for radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Word of the police escort got the attention of the agency's inspector general, who opened an investigation into the matter.

The escort from Newark Liberty International Airport to Manhattan was also mentioned in detail on Limbaugh's show. This is the second high profile Port Authority official to step down in recent weeks. Another commissioner, Caren Turner, resigned after a profanity-laden video of her surfaced in an interaction with state police.
