Thousands In Mid-Hudson Still Without Electric

Central Hudson is continuing its restoration efforts after the nor’easter storm on Friday knocked 110 thousand local customers off the grid.

Most of those customers in Dutchess, Ulster and the other counties now have their electricity back, but as of this morning nearly 12,000 customers were still without power. The utility company has a crew of about 650 workers in the field.  Central Hudson estimates that near full restoration will be achieved on Wednesday.

Central Hudson customers in Dutchess County who are still without power can pick up bottles of water and dry ice today at two distribution centers.  The supplies are available at the Home Depot off of Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie across from Marist College and also at Red Hook High School on West Market Street until 6pm or while supplies last.
