Holiday Travel Begins Today

(New York, NY) -- With the Triple-A predicting a record 107 million people traveling this Christmas holiday, roads and airports will be crowded starting today.

The organization says more than 97 million people are hitting the road. The busiest time to do that, according to the navigation app Waze, will be Friday afternoon. Nearly six and a half million people are traveling by air, with the busiest days expected to be Thursday, Friday and next Tuesday. Flights could be slowed by winter storms which are bringing snow to the northwest and upper midwest, and rain and thunder to parts of the south. That'll be followed by bitter cold settling in over much of the country by Christmas.
