U.S. Mail Christmas Deadlines Loom

(New York, NY) -- As Christmas gets closer, the U.S. Postmaster General has suggestions for holiday mailing.

Megan Brennan, the U.S. Postal Service CEO, says there are mailing deadlines for guaranteeing on-time arrival. Deadlines for military people serving overseas are a little tighter, December 11th for letters, that's next Monday, and December 19th for cards.

The deadline for U.S. delivery  is December 19th for First Class Mail and December 20th for Priority Mail.

Brennan says your local post office can help with suitable packaging and self-service postage assistance. Brennan also says not to guess on a zip code. Either just leave it off or look it up at usps.com under Quick Tools.
