(New York, NY) -- New York Yankees' Manager Joe Girardi is not returning for the 2018 season. Girardi just ended a four-year 16-million dollar contract.
Girardi said in a statement today, "With a heavy heart, I come to you because the Yankees have decided not to bring me back." A formal announcement is planned later today. The 53-year-old Girardi came within a game of reaching the World Series, losing to the American League Champion Houston Astros. He leaves with a record of 910 and 710 since 2008.
