Village of Maybrook Police Chief Arnold Amthor was shot in the shoulder this morning and a suspect then barricaded himself in a home on Abbey Avenue in Maybrook. He was later killed in a shootout with police.
Mid-Hudson News.com reports that Amthor was being treated at St.Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, and that Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus was visiting with Amthor at the hospital. The chief is believed to be in stable condition. A domestic incident sparked the standoff shortly after nine this morning.
