Kayak Murder Case Will Soon Go To Trial

Trial time is getting closer for Angelika Graswald.

Graswald and her attorneys were in Orange County Court today for a conference meeting with the judge and prosecutors.  The meeting was likely held to set parameters for the upcoming trial now set to begin next month.

Graswald is facing Second Degree Murder charges in the death of her fiancé Vincent Viafore.  The Poughkeepsie couple back in April of 2015 was kayaking on the Hudson River when Viafore’s kayak overturned and he drowned.  Prosecutors say Graswald tampered with Viafore’s kayak and did not help him when he was in the water.  Graswald says Viafore's death was an accident.
