The Mid-Hudson Bridge overpass in Highland was closed for nearly five hours after a tractor-trailer overturned on Route 9-W this morning.
The truck’s cargo of crushed cars spilled onto the highway during rush-hour, causing a mile long backup. The truck was exiting on the bridge ramp when it slid and overturned. Weather may have been a factor at the 7:15am crash.
The truck driver was treated for minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
