New York Might Approve Controversial DNA Search

(Albany, NY) -- A New York State Commission will be voting today on whether to allow a controversial DNA search.

It allows investigators to search the state DNA data base to find someone related to a convicted criminal. Critics argue it invades the privacy of innocent people.

The family of murdered Queens jogger Karina Vetrano had been pushing for this method after she was killed last August and before police made an arrest in the case.
